My Rating
“The White Sail Of Her Soul”
The only soul Victor Von Doom ever cared about has died by his own hands. With all the king’s magic and all the king’s sins, Doom could not put Valeria together again. If not by his will, then by some others. The gods! Yes, those who reign over life and death must listen. If they do not, Doom will make them listen!
As the heroes of Earth begin to restore order across the globe, the disgraced savior of humanity withdraws into the darkest corners of the universe. There, Doom seeks a power greater than his own. That which can return his goddaughter, Valeria Richards. Nothing else matters now. His own worth be damned!
Review
It’s been real, I guess. One World Under Doom ends leaving humanity more fractured than it was before the Blood Hunt event. To make things worse, Doctor Doom has invited every yahoo with an intergalactic invasion fleet or god-like ability to fill the power gap. As usual, Marvel Comics gets their next rinse-and-repeat sales spike; readers, on the other hand, are left wondering if they will continue to shell out money for the “next big thing”.
I, for one, wish to see Marvel return to their basics. Please just give us compelling stories like the good old days. The grand character get-togethers and crossover events should be used sparingly. For me, issue eight and the series as a whole gets three stars, tops.
