“Red Shadows”
Solomon Kane chased the homicidal Frenchman across two continents only to be foiled by the dark. Under a vast canopy of jungle, running along the African coastline, a towering native from the nearby tribe had ambushed Kane as he stalked Le Loup – the man who had murdered an entire village in France the month prior. Now Solomon lays captive on the floor of a juju man’s hut, while his promise to a dying woman may never be fulfilled.
Will God’s chosen warrior capture “The Wolf” before any locals raise the alarm to his presence? Has the village juju man brought the wrath of the Great Gorilla God down upon Solomon Kane? Can Le Loup corrupt the pious morality of a puritan with stolen gold? Collect the series to find out!
Review
Marvel Comics and Jim Shooter are responsible for keeping the work of Robert E Howard visible through the 1980s. In this adaptation of Red Shadows, writer Ralph Macchio helps bring this classic story to a new generation of readers. With art by Bret Blevins and Steven Carr, this limited series is a very solid entertainment choice for fans of the fantasy adventure genre.
For Solomon Kane fans, this is a must for any Robert E Howard collection. I give issue number one a pious four out of five stars. History awaits!
