“Exalted Imagination”
Back to school, back to school, to prove time travel didn’t make us a fool. With New York still sore over the Baxter Building debacle, the penniless Fantastic Four decide to laydown roots in Arizona. As the adults focus on normalizing their family units, Franklin, Valeria, N’kalla, and Jo-venn have been given a new mission. Survive the social jungles of the Arizona public school system.
The Kree and Skrull warrior children are an instant hit with their earthling counterparts. Franklin and Valeria face different challenges. Yes, who doesn’t love space exploring spawns of superheroes? They are instantly popular but with great coolness comes greater responsibilities in the homework department. Their science teacher, Ms. Furugori, has just assigned her class to write an epic essay on 17th century alchemist Robert Boyle. Which one of Boyle’s theoretical inventions will the Richards kids pick to write about? Write about, heck, make the invention real! Extra credit, boom!
How many theorized inventions did Robert Boyle add to his wish list? Will N’kalla and Jo-venn ever learn to report global catastrophes to their parents? Can Franklin and Valeria improv their way through a science class presentation? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
N’kalla and Jo-venn are quickly becoming my favorite members of the Fantastic Four. Now that they have learned to tattle on their older siblings, I foresee the Johnny and Ben dramatics taking a backseat. Speaking of Johnny Storm, where was he this issue? Maybe he was taking Princess Masters-Grimm for an extended walk?
There’s not much to say about this issue accept it was another hit in my opinion. Ryan North sure does his research. Other Marvel writers should take notes. I’m giving this school project episode four out of five stars. N’kalla and Jo-venn for class president!
