Sensational She-Hulk – Volume 02 Issue 03

My Rating

Rating: 3 out of 5.

“Jen-Sational – Part 03”

Someone call Damage Control because Columbus Avenue is about to need a fresh coat of paint! In a gamma powered rage, April Booth tosses OG Hulk through several brownstone buildings, then proceeds to pin his face to the sidewalk nearby. As Jennifer springs into action to keep the newest She-Hulk from turning her cousin into street pizza, she spots Mark Booth retrieving blood from Hulk’s limp forearm. So that’s what they were after. Mark wants to go green!

It’s time to see if Jennifer’s latest Punch Club training has paid off. The Jade Giantess lands several upper cuts to April Booth’s mutated jaw, sending the brute flying back into a Fiat smart car. She-Hulk then dives for Mark Booth and his vial of freshly drawn blood. There will be no more Hulks if she has anything to say about it. But not so fast, Jennifer… A millisecond before she lands on top of the sneak-thief, Mark tosses the vial of Bruce Banner’s blood to the left. The sound of Hulk-April roars into Jennifer’s ears. Damn she’s fast.

Will Mark and April Booth escape with their gamma prize intact? Did Bruce Banner just get assigned a new pronoun? Does anyone really read the daily Threats and Menaces? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

So how does a needle penetrate the skin of the Incredible Hulk? Isn’t he bulletproof or something? If anyone could just walk up and take a sample, wouldn’t every high level supervillain on the planet have tried this tactic already? This plot just doesn’t make sense to me.

Issue number three of Sensational She-Hulk returns to the one story format as we find out what is really going on inside April Booth’s mind. I looks like it’s the battle of the sexes as new She-Hulk slugs it out with “He-Hulk”. Yes, you read that correctly. The label “He-Hulk” is in our lives. Isn’t it grand?

It looks like Jennifer Walters and Bruce Banner are mending their differences while the story wades back into slice of life territory. I’m giving this issue three out of five stars simply for the fact Mallory Book and Awesome Andy have joined a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. Maybe they can level up before the Brooks create a new Planet Hulk. Your guess is as good as mine at this point.
