My Rating
“Hall Of Heroes – Part 02”
Set course due north, time to take back Launchpad’s missing compass! Oh, and if Darkwing can beat Neptunia to the perpetrator that would be great! No Gosalyn, you can’t fly the Thunderquack. Launchpad is totally capable of flying straight with a broken heart. Hey, is that the same island we passed three times in a row? Launchpad!?!
Wow, the prices at the local souvenir shop are almost criminal! Yes, yes, Darkwing will take one overpriced compass please. What does Launchpad mean, “it’s just not the same”? Step aside and let a professional superhero do the flying. Cue Gizmoduck! Who is the sidekick in this new relationship anyway? How about a good old fashioned superhero team-up? Let’s get dangerous!
Will Darkwing Duck and the gang survive their time on Big Giant Ice Maze Island? Is that an Abominable Snowduck? Who has the better melting torch? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
The novelty is beginning to wear off of this series for me, but for fans of the original television series there is enough entertainment value to satisfy. Darkwing Duck issue eight continues the plot from the previous book, thus leading our heroes on a search for Launchpad’s stolen compass. But is it all in vain?
My favorite part of the book was seeing the Abominable Snowduck. Unfortunately, it was a very, very short fight. I don’t know who the target audience is here? I doubt this series will be on a lot of adult comic book reader pull lists. I’m giving this issue three out of five stars. Hopefully the Abominable Snowduck returns in future series.
