My Rating
Target Zero
Deep inside the Führerbunker Sgt. Rock goes mano e mano with the zombie Führer und Reichskanzler himself. Boosted on some vunder-serum, Hitler pulls an American bayonet blade from his upper jaw bone. He screams in anger as his necro-enhanced hands slash out at the American. Seeing the deep shit he has gotten himself into, Rock yells back at his men to retreat and call in a second bombing run.
Outside in the ruined buildings above, several revived stormtroopers begin to rise up off the ground and collect their weapons. Things have just gotten much worse for the boys of Easy Company. Even with their advanced tech provided by the special weapons research division of the U.S. Army, things are looking grim. Their only hope is getting the B-17 back in play…
Will a steel worker from Pittsburgh be able to stop the world’s first inmortal dictator? What exactly is the “Division of Anomalous Phenomena”? How many times do we have to kill this guy anyways? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
We come to the conclusion of the series, or have we…? This has been an interesting run on Sgt. Rock, however I still stand by my previous review. This whole series could have been published in two jumbo books. Bruce Campbell is a competent writer but there are a lot of familiar themes here. The 2018 Overlord film has a lot of the same elements (minus old Adolphy). If you are interested in this series I would recommend buying the trade paperback or collecting all the issues before reading. The story really goes fast. I’m giving this issue 4 out of 4 stars, and the series as a whole 4 out of 4 stars. Hopefully they release a follow-up series.
