Wanted: Hitler – Dead or Alive
The Führerbunker has been found but the boys of Easy Company need a plan. They must parachute into a labyrinth of destroyed buildings and dodge zombie krauts along the way. Sgt. Rock’s men have a saying, “Hope for the best, expect the worst.”
Can Sgt. Rock match wits with an amped up Eva? Will Hitler be well enough for a house visit? Did Doctor Morell sneak out the back door? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
Well this was even shorter and sweeter than the last issue. Even though I enjoyed the artwork and Bruce Campbell’s contributions to DC Comics, this series has followed the new formula for publishing comic books.
The racket, I feel safe calling it a racket at this point, is to string along readers with minuscule storylines, then rely on the sales of alternative cover art. To be honest, I’ve seen more content in a Dr. Suess book than this issue of Sgt. Rock.
Compared to older books, issue number five is ridiculously short on story. DC Comics could have published this entire run in two bronze age books. I have to go with another three out of five stars. Hopefully the last issue is a barn burner, but I’m not keeping my fingers crossed.
