“A Thing Or Two”
Multiple portals to the Dino-verse! Human Doom has revealed his partnership with dinosaur Doom days before the human Fantastic Four was sucked into the Arizona portal. Does this make human Doctor Doom the first recorded Dino-naut? As for the dinosaur Fantastic Four, are they the first known Human-nauts? Or, is it Homosapien-naut? The Multiverse is a very, very confusing place to live at this point.
With a stroke of luck, Benjamin Grimm slipped from Reed Richards’ grasp while team Doom attacked the combined dino-human coalition as they were engaged in stopping the two dimensions from collapsing upon each other. With old blue-eyes back on human Earth his first priority is to use human Reed’s Redirector Device to fix the temporal rift. But not so fast! The dinosaur versions of the Fantastic Four are locked in mortal combat with Earth’s mightiest human Avengers. Say what?!
Can human Tony Stark recreate the dinosaur language matrix before the Avengers become dino-snacks? Is human Doom and his dinosaur counterpart really trying to combine the two dimensions into one mega-dimension? Do the Brothers Grimm know who Doctor Doom’s real enemy is? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
I don’t know what to say about this one, to be completely honest. I like all the components here but was this whole story written just to tell the line about Moongirl and Devil Dinosaur? Come on Ryan North, say it ain’t so!
I like the previous issue as it seemed to be a fresh idea from Ryan. I don’t know if it’s just the delay in me reading the conclusion, but the appeal of a dinosaur Multiverse just didn’t hold me this time around. It’s nice to know there is an alternative Earth with dinosaur versions of our favorite characters, but will it return? Who knows.
I’m giving issue thirteenth of Ryan North’s Fantastic Four three out of five stars. I absolutely love the art in this series. T-rex Doom is pretty sweet. I just lost interest in the story. Maybe if Ian Malcolm showed up and talked about Chaos theory it would have sparked my learning? Until next time.
