“Beginnings”
For weeks, an army of marauders has rampaged across the Hyrkanian countryside, razing every town and village along the way. Now their leader commands his forces to attack an outpost city, the only home Red Sonja has ever known.
War erupts through the streets! As Sonja races block to block in a vain attempt to save her countrymen, a dark figure watches the carnage from above. Deep brown eyes focus on the woman with the fiery red hair. It seems this Hyrkanian woman is the only one worthy of recruitment. Such heroes, however, disdain the rule of Set and their priests. Thulsa Doom must act quickly.

Review
Doom has come for Red Sonja! Thulsa Doom, that is. It’s the year 2006. Luke Lieberman, Peter David, and Will Conrad have breathed new life into the Red Sonja franchise at Dynamite Entertainment. To be honest, this has been my favorite era in the publisher’s history with the character.
Red Sonja has not been corrupted by modern sensibilities. The raw savagery still remains. For this, I give issue one of Red Sonja Vs Thulsa Doom a solid four out of five stars.
