Since I have the original Chilling Adventures In Sorcery I thought it would be fun to round out my collection with the newer issues. After reading Return to the Adventures In Sorcery I have to admit I’m a little disappointed. Here are my thoughts.
This issue is set in the darker Chilling Adventures of Sabrina universe, not the fun loving Sabrina from the primary stories. I’m not a huge fan of this setting but it’s not what disappointed me. The story is disjointed in parts, changing back and forth from the main storyline to a random mini story. If you are into grindhouse style movies this might be the comic for you. I just didn’t care about the random characters and their problems.
The reader also needs the previous year’s one-shot book to completely understand what is going on. I had no knowledge of Madam Satan before today. If you plan to read this issue I would suggest getting last year’s one-shot and read it first.
I’m giving The Return of the Chilling Adventures In Sorcery three zombie webcam girls out of five.
