“Werewolf By Night – Part 09”

With the new Darkhold almost complete, Elsa Bloodstone and her team of misfits must act fast before Jack Russell’s consciousness is lost forever. In one final spine-curdling howl, the dying Werewolf By Night calls out across continents for aid from his fellow werebeasts. It’s make-or-break time!

Darholder Castle – Transylvania, former home to Dracula, the Romanian military launches a full assault upon the evil which lies inside the stone walls. As Lilith, mother of demons, finishes her last enchantments, her right-hand general, Red Hood, paces back and forth near an open window. Will their bold actions draw the attention of the newly crowned Sorcerer Supreme? Doctor Doom could ruin everything they worked so hard to achieve!

Is it too late to save Jack Russell from an eternity of hell? Will a junior Avenger get his chance to help save the world? How far is Doctor Voodoo willing to go to free Jake Gomez and his soul from the werewolf curse? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

There’s lots of action inside the pages of Werewolf By Night: Red Band #09, but not much story advancement. I’m disappointed with the page time Doctor Voodoo receives in this series. What is the point in bringing back a classic Marvel character like Jericho Drumm and not have him act? Weird.

I give this issue three out of five stars. This is a good series, so check it out if you’re a Marvel horror fan. It has been an interesting one.
