“Witches – Part 03”
As Doctor Strange confronts the mother of demons in the darkest reaches of hell, the newest spawn of Lilith begins an attack on the Sanctum Sanctorum. Tricked into thinking the monster is just another one of Wong’s training devices, Topaz, Jennifer Kale, and Satana move to intercept the beast.
Elsewhere, inside Andy Kale’s apartment, his entire body is a wash in crippling pain. What is happening to his body?! Andy goes insane as his physical form begins to transform into something much, much larger. He catches a fainting glimpse of demonic horns sprouting from his skull in a nearby mirror. Then total blackness takes over his thoughts.
Will the three witches work as a team to defeat Lilith’s demon spawn? How did the monster breach the protection barriers of the Sanctum Santorum? What is happening to the youngest member of the Kale family? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
There wasn’t much advancement in the storyline this time, but there were a few surprises. I was more entertained by the nostalgia in the advertisements. The MMORPG “City of Heroes” paid for a double page spread in the middle of the comic book. Not to be put done, the television show “Stargate: Atlantis” got a four-fold poster inside as well. If you buy this comic, make sure you check to see if the poster is still attached.
Doctor Strange’s cloak of Levitation grows to Spawn-like proportions in this series. The year 2004 must have had a surge in necro-goo popularity? Weird. I give this issue three out of five stars.
