Behold! The Millennium Giants (Superman: Man of Steel – Volume 01 Issue 79)

My Rating

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“End Of The World!”

Outer space, 65 miles above the city of Metropolis, Red Superman has depleted his total energy output to grow large enough to fly the Millennium Giant Cabraca away from the Earth’s atmosphere. The plan works as the giant’s body begins to crumble into pieces. But within minutes the segments of Cabraca begin to fall back to Earth, reforming along the way. Red Superman has failed once again.

Sydney, Australia, several hours later, Cabraca has reconstructed his body and resumes the preprogrammed trek along the ley lines. His unknown mission must continue and Sydney is in his path. Nearby, a hodgepodge team made up of the JLA and the Challengers of the Unknown have gathered near the world famous Sydney opera house. Dr. John Henry Irons has reconfigured the alien weapon retrieved from the JLA moon base into a powerful energy dampening device. If it can be delivered somehow into the interior of the giant, theoretically it can depower the titan permanently. All it takes is two Supermen to complete the mission. The only problem is they are both missing in action.

Can Blue Superman solo a mission designed for two? Who is the mysterious Keeper of the Flame? Will the hero Terra ever recover mentally from the destruction of her homeland? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

We have another rollercoaster storyline! Yay! Is a new supervillain born in this issue? There is a nice three page foldout at the end of the book. A four star issue in my opinion.
