“Ghosts & Echoes – Part 01: The Sharpened Tooth”
The boy was the last born, frail and underdeveloped. A burden upon his family. One day, after failing to help his siblings with even the most minor of tasks, his father gave the boy an ultimatum. Maintain the Hunter’s blades or be left behind on the Hyrkanian Steppes.
Providence soon found the boy, and his skill with the sharpening stone grew masterfully. As did his health. Strangely, his brothers and sisters began to disappear. One by one. At first, wolves were blamed. Soon the father had his suspicions. The truth would not be revealed until the Blooming Hunt.
“Hyrkania: Riders Of Steel And Silk And Gold”
Jeffrey Shanks removes the veil of mystery from the lands of Hyrkania. From their humble Lemurian beginnings, to a proud horse-centric people, Robert E Howard created a robust history of the land which bore Red Sonja. This is a must-read for any fan of the Hyborian Age.
Review
The resurrection of Thulsa Doom has failed. Now the Children of the Woeful Eye want their revenge. Issue 29 begins with the introduction of a new nemesis for Conan. Where will it go? I don’t know, but I can’t wait to find out. This was an excellent example of character development. I give part one of Ghosts & Echoes four out of five stars.
