Review
Issue #3 finally pulls back the curtain on Sarah Archer, and damn, what an ugly soul hides beneath. Writer Delilah S. Dawson does a fantastic job revealing just how far Sarah’s jealousy, bitterness, and hatred have carried her down the path toward damnation. What once felt like resentment between two sisters has become something far darker. Sarah isn’t simply a troubled woman making terrible decisions anymore. Evil has taken root, and she seems more than willing to water the damn thing.
This is easily my favorite part of the story so far. The twisted relationship between the Archer sisters gives The Witches of the Western Woods the kind of old-fashioned supernatural horror that belongs in Sleepy Hollow. Blood, witchcraft, jealousy, and a little help from the Devil—what more could a horror fan ask for? Now that Sarah Archer’s true nature has finally crawled into the light, I can’t wait to see just how much further she is willing to fall.
I give Sleepy Hollow: The Witches of the Western Woods #3 a solid four out of five stars.
