“Black Helicopter“
It’s late afternoon somewhere in a remote forest of the Bitterroot Mountains, Idaho. The Challengers have been airlifted into the area by helicopter and now make their way to their contact point. Hec Warden, leader of the Freedom Ridge Militia, is the man responsible for this operation. The only details he will give is about some mysterious black helicopters. He believes the US government is abducting his people.
Clay Brody takes a step over a downed tree trunk in order to make his way towards higher ground. Before he can take account of his surroundings a bullet from a high powered rifle whizzes past his left leg. The other Challengers dive for cover, but not Clay. He hears voices a short distance away and scans the treeline.
The shooters give up their location to pursue the Challengers. There are several men in various states of physical condition. They wear vaguely similar uniforms. It’s the Militia members.
A chase ensues, but the Challengers of the Unknown find a secluded cave entrance and take stock of their situation. Why are the men who requested assistance now attacking them? They need answers. They need them fast!
A teenage boy with a Browning twelve gauge shotgun stumbled onto their hiding spot. Marlon Corbet shouts out the Challengers intentions to help. The boy doesn’t seem interested in words. He points the shotgun at the group but before he can chamber a round into firing position an extremely bright light engulfs the teen. He yells out in a panicked scream something about the black helicopter. In a flash the boy, gun, and white light disappear.
Why are unmarked black helicopters menacing the Militia members of the Bitterroot Mountains? Did Marlon see something in the light which abducted the teenage boy? Can Hec Warden maintain order amongst his ranks? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
A very interesting storyline but a little disjointed at the end. You have to love black helicopters and Militia men though. I’m giving this one three stars for the confusion at the end.
