“Helen of Wyndhorn”
Into the Thirteen Seas they sailed, Helen of Wyndhorn and Othan the Mighty. Their return to the other world came with one stipulation. Helen must agree to allow Barnabas to show her true lineage and disclose the cause of her father’s spiraling depression. Helen would finally learn why C.k. Cole wrote his famous pulp fiction comic Othan the Vanquished. A series that would touch writers and children across time itself.
What ever happened to Helen of Wyndhorn? Would Lilith Appleton give writer Thomas Rogers everything he needed for his biography on C.K. Cole? Who will buy the rare edition of Othan #37? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
Wow, what a tearjerker ending this was. This has to be one of the best storylines I’ve ever read in a comic book series. As we reach the end, it becomes clear that writer Tom King leaves some things open for interpretation. This series reminds me of the classic story Wizard of Oz. Did Dorothy and Toto really visit a far away land known as Oz, or, was it all just a dream? Did C.K. Cole and his daughter Helen truly traverse the “other world” with the sword-wielding Barnabas? Or, was Lilith Appleton embellishing her time at Wyndhorn house? Either way, I hold Tom King and Bilquis Evely’s work here in the highest regard.
I give Helen of Wyndhorn #6 five out of five stars. The series overall, of course, is five stars and then some. I would recommend this series to anyone, no matter what genre of comic books they read. Go get Helen of Wyndhorn ASAP. You will not regret it.
