“The Damnation Delivery Service”

Life is like a series of off-ramps. The exit chosen may be the safest road to a destination. However, it could also lead to one’s damnation. For Percy Cross, a transient haunted by her own past, her days are spent trying to stay ahead of the law. But can her actions truly be judged as good or evil?

On the back roads and highways of the American southwest, things are not so easily considered. Today, in front of a crowded roadside coffee stand, Percy must make a pivotal decision. Will she flee the watchful eye of a demotivated highway patrolman, or save the child of two inattentive parents? As a little girl chases her balloon out into oncoming traffic, Percy’s next actions could summon the ultimate judge of evil.

Are supernatural forces at play near the Lava Java Coffee stand? What has fate bestowed on Percy’s sister Helen? Who is the mysterious truck driver seeking salvation along the devil’s highway? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

As a fan of self-published comic books, I’m always interested in the varying levels of artistry and production. Some feature artists with a high level of skill, but suffer from insufficient writing or a compelling story. Others are just the opposite. I’ve read books with outstanding stories. However, for one reason or another, the books are hamstrung by the artwork. Neither is the case for Axles Infernal!

I was amazed by the level of work put into this project. And rightly so. Axles Infernal is a product of comic book industry veterans. Writer/Co-Creator D.G. Chichester is well known for his work with Marvel, DC, Acclaim, and Milestone Comics. Daredevil and Judge Dredd to name just a few title characters he has written for.

Artist/Co-Creator Karl Waller has not only graced the pages of such iconic heroes as Wonder Woman and Wolverine, but also created art for several role-playing games. As a Gen-X nerd, I am quite familiar with Shadowrun by FASA games. And Dungeons & Dragons, you may have heard of that one.

To round out the production team, Axles Infernal has Colorist Wesley Wong – who also worked on Wonder Woman, as well as other projects within the industry. Letterer Pat Brosseau has worked at both DC and Marvel. To be a staff letterer for the Marvel Bullpen, who wouldn’t love to be a fly on that wall?

If you’re a fan of indie, self-published comic books, you definitely need to check this series out. I’m surprised that Chichester and Waller haven’t shopped this book to one of the Big Three. Marvel, DC, and Darkhorse would be crazy not to pick this one up. In my opinion, Axles Infernal blows books like Spawn out of the water. I give issue one of Axles Infernal five out of five stars.
