Behold! The Millennium Giants (Action Comics Volume 01 Issue 744)

My Rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“Crossroads”

Mexico City, late afternoon, rescue crews are scrambling to give aid where at all possible, but the devastation is incalculable. Lois Lane helps locate the buried but she is interrupted by an incoming jeep. Inside the vehicle are the members of the Challengers of the Unknown. Marlin and his team have come bearing vital information about a weakness in the Millennium Giants. They are here for Superman, unfortunately both heroes have split up to follow the giants.

The next day, five miles off the shores of Metropolis, Cabraca slowly marches towards another ley line intersection. High up in the Daily Planet office building, Perry White barks out last minute orders to his staff. Evacuate immediately! His phone rings, it’s Lois with the information gathered by the Challengers. Where the hell is Clark Kent?!

In another part of the city, Lex Luthor holds his baby daughter as he looks out across the bay. A smirk crawls across his face. The giant looks almost comical as it towers over the highest skyscrapers in Metropolis. It’s time to put the Luthor initiative into action. It’s survival of the fittest.

Is the data gathered by the Challengers of the Unknown the key to stopping the Millennium Giants? Will Lex Luthor cut and run or defend his city wide interests? How much longer does Superboy continue to whine? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

Another issue with ups and downs. Fun, fun, fun. Will Metropolis get curb-stomped? Batman arrives on the scene with some leadership. This version of the Teen Titans has too much lama-drama for my taste. I’m giving this one five stars.
