Chilling Adventures Presents… Madam Satan – Hell On Earth

Chilling Adventures Presents… Madam Satan – Hell On Earth

My Rating

Rating: 3 out of 5.

“Hell On Earth”

Note: this story begins in last years The Return of Chilling Tales In Sorcery

Baxter High School has fallen, and now thanks to Lola Satan, Lucifer’s demonic forces have invaded the Earth. What’s the next target on Satan’s March of destruction? Let’s just say the Riverdale basketball team schedule has just been delayed, permanently.

With Madam Satan’s powers and supermodel good looks stripped from her, where will she retreat? To the house blaring really bad punk music! Hello little girl, can you help a raggedy old witch save the world? The swing of a baseball bat answers her question.

Will Riverdale survive the upcoming apocalypse? Who or what are the Eldritch Terrors? Why does the blind girl have such a foul mouth? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

Oh Archie Horror editors, why do you punish your fans so? Chilling Adventures Presents “Hell On Earth” is the continuation of last year’s story featured in “The Return of Chilling Adventures In Sorcery”. One of Baxter High School’s teachers, Madam Satan, unintentionally opens a gateway to hell itself.

Unfortunately for the readers, we get the ol’ new Archie publisher treatment. The story is extremely short, with a big chunk of the book taken up by advertisements for other Archie products, and a brief behind the scenes to the making of Hell On Earth. I’ve complained about this in my previous reviews. Do younger Archie readers really care about the making of something that’s to even a complete story?

I’m assuming we have to wait another year to see what happens next? There is an ad for the next Chilling Adventures Presents, but it doesn’t appear to be related. Your guess is as good as mine. The story and art is consistent with the other Archie horror titles. Unfortunately, due to the length of story we get, I have to give this a three out of five star review.
