“Circus”
The carnival atmosphere was a fun excursion that day for Stephen and Clea Strange. They had the opportunity to show Clea’s new sister Donna just what humans do to entertain themselves, and Coney Island was the best place to experience the action. The rides. The games. The stuffed animals! Everything was marvelous until Donna decided to play hide and seek in the park thanks to her wild magic. Bats, time to earn your keep!
Elsewhere, under the Big Top a new group of supervillains are about to launch their big get rich scheme. Thanks to the ingenuity of her late grandfather, the ringleader of the syndicate is about to turn Coney Island’s ferris wheel into the largest hypno-wheel known to mankind. Well, at least in the tri-state area. All they have to do is press the start button on the remote control… wait, what happened to the remote? Magic baby, no!
Will Stephen and Clea Strange recover their lost dependant before Umar the Unrelenting torches Coney Island and all that reside there? How is Donna able to mask her magic signature without proper training? Is that a Howard the Duck plushie? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
This Circus is a madhouse! Poor Stefano, his Ludilophobia is like kryptonite to a certain caped superhero. Too bad there are so many stuffed animals surrounding his parameter. Donna sure likes to pour on the Fright. She’s a bad…girl.
I don’t want to ruin the supervillain reveal, so I will just say vintage superheros are so in this year. This was a very light hearted adventure at Coney Island with no serious reproductions. You see, we don’t need an epic Avengers End Game event every month. Sometimes it’s the little things that make us happy. I’m giving this issue four out of five stars.
