“Cobolorum – Part 01”
A demonic entity that almost corrupted an entire generation of children has resurfaced. From the forgotten pages of a 1980’s fantasy role-playing game, lower Manhattan is about to face its biggest challenge yet. A complete emergence into the psychomimetic space of Cobolorum.
To rescue the children responsible for activating the game, Doctor Strange must play by the rules dictated by the Game-Master’s handbook. Go forth mighty sorcerer and assemble your adventuring party. You will need a fighter, thief, wizard, and a priest. Nothing more, and nothing less will suffice. So Doctor Strange, how do you want to do this?
Will Stephen Strange ever discover who is responsible for the original release of the Cobolorum fantasy role-playing game? Did the Black Cat really almost cause Manhattan to fall into the Halls of the Gilded-Saint? Did Taskmaster really date in high school? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
Welcome to nerdville Doctor Strange, do you need some dice? “Cobolorum – Part One” is a fun filled jaunt through the world of fantasy role-playing buffs. Apparently on Earth 616, not all games were made to government regulations. Nope! The rumors of Dungeons & Dragons and its demonic influence on children were real! Well, for the most part anyways. Thanks, mysterious creator of Cobolorum.
I love this type of storytelling. Readers don’t need every comic book to be a huge story arc with a multiple book crossover event. Just throw some random characters together, call them the Secret Defenders, add some sexual tension and comedy elements, and see where the action leads. This role-playing inspired event gets a five out of five star rating from me. Now roll a d20 for me…
