“Dominatrix – 03”
Dominique has just defeated several low-level henchmen inside a boathouse near an Indonesian fishing village. Her only problem now is the three tattooed men in fedoras who have just crashed the party to witness the whole fight. With their guns drawn and pointed at the Dominatrix, she must think fast.
They don’t appear to be the same guys from Los Angeles hit. Time to dial the bullshit meter up to eleven! Dominique Stern explains that she has already “taken care of the hit” and that she is a “special agent” for the “Company” – whatever that is. At first the hitmen don’t believe her, but what other explanation can they come up with? A red headed American, dressed in weird-ass Dominatrix gear, has just wiped out Twelve’s men?
Dominique just realizes the three men are referring to themselves as numbers. Who’s One, Ten, and Eleven? Then the lightbulb flips one in her head. The tattoo she was investigating was not the letter B, but the number 13! With a quick glance, the red haired hero discovers each one of the gunmen have separate numbers inked on the back of their neck!
Who is behind the international syndicate known as the “Thirteenth”? Will Dominique’s new friend with benefits help track down the ingredients used in the special red pills? What ties did her mother have with the “Company” and their drug testing program? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
Wow, the goofy tattoo mystery has now been solved. It’s nothing like I expected it to be, so I was left satisfied. Several things have begun to fall into place. Rightly so as there is only one more issue to wrap things up.
If you have kids I would not recommend letting them read this series. When Gene Simmons is involved with a project, you know there has to be a sex element to the story. The one thing that I find weird about the Dominatrix character is her red hair.
Gene’s daughter Sophie also has red hair. I don’t want to project, but it would be creepy if the character was based on his own daughter. I’m just throwing that out there.
Overall this is a solid series. I don’t own any of the original Simmons Comic Group books, so I can’t compare this new version of Dominatrix to the original. For this issue I’m giving it a four out of five stars. If you are looking for something different to read, pick up Dominatrix today before supplies run out.
