“The Trail”

Blood banks have always been the standard operating procedure for vampires. Even in the early years, when Blade entered into the suck-head removal services, they existed in dirty warehouses and damp undisclosed basements. Now, with wearable technologies, a new industry has risen to meet the health-conscious. This technology, of course, was being used to track those who the vampires wished to feed upon.

Enter one Elton Burns, a tech genius and Vampire manipulated familiar. His new smartwatch design would place all of humanity on the dinner menu. It would take a more sophisticated and cunning Blade to make it into the backroom parties of Silicon Valley.

“Traffic”

Vampire bloodlines are like fine wine. The older they are, the more they are sought and coveted by those of lesser power. For the Venterene Family, their blood was one of the oldest in the tri-state area.

If a plebeian gutter-trash vampire could only drink from such an ancient source, their power and knowledge would grow infinitely. Cue the vampire trapped in a little girl’s body. Tanya Venterene was one of the last in that elder bloodline. Her only chance of surviving death was to make it across the bridge to New Jersey.  Say hello to Tanya’s new bodyguard and wheel man, the one they call the Daywalker.

“The Price Of Iron”

In an unknown future, a heist has begun somewhere within the Multiverse. Tyler Potts had plans to make a quick buck selling a family heirloom. His friend is skeptical. Why would Tyler’s Grandma keep such a thing locked in a closet somewhere in Leonia, New Jersey? The house was big, sure, but the thing they were about to steal was tied to Tony Stark.

The Iron Man died years ago under mysterious circumstances. How was Tyler or his friend supposed to know about the curse? No one talked about Tony Stark or the curse. Why should they? Even the grandmother, Pepper Potts wouldn’t discuss Tony’s last battle with the sorcerer Azaziah.

Review

Marvel Comics has something special here this Halloween season. With three horror stories set in black and white, with red all over, any Marvel horror fan should be entertained with this comic book. I sure was.

It’s nice to see Blade getting back to his roots with the stories The Trail and Traffic. The breakout story, however, is The Price Of Iron. Writer Chris Condon weaves a chilling tale of horror set in the Iron Man armor itself. Kudos to this guy! I give this comic book five out of five stars.
