Hell In A Handbasket – Part 01

The year is 1991’ish, the city Las Vegas, Nevada. Father Preacher is tending to the local homeless population which live in the abandoned sewer systems. Of these forgotten souls a portion suffer from mental illness, some are financially destitute, while others are bottom rung criminals with sordid pasts. Father Preacher has dealt with most elements living there and knows all the hardships. He has even heard the rumors of molemen using the abandoned tunnels for purposes unknown.

One of his flock, a young pregnant woman, calls out to Preacher from inside a cardboard box shelter. He stops for a few minutes to catch up on today’s events. Apparently a mysterious stranger is busy stirring up hate for the citizens living and working above them. Who is this man? What hold does he have on the people living there?

Across the country, high above the Big Apple, Spider-Man helps an elderly supervillain cross the street. Suddenly the thoughts of Los Vegas fill his head. Is Peter Parker in need of a vacation, or has the stress of working for J. Jonah Jameson finally cracked him? Time to put in that PTO request!

Elsewhere, Logan, Johnny Blaze, and Joe Fixit are having the same interest in the city that never sleeps. Is this a strange coincidence? Will Wolverine come to terms with a “preggo”? Is the Ghost Rider having double visions? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

Being a fan of the Fantastic Four I was waiting for this series to be released. I have to say I love the first issue. The story is a continuation from the 1991 era Fantastic Four books, specifically issues 347 through 349. The humor and action are a good mix and the art stays true to the original source material. Now to brush up on the Joe Fixit backstory.
