Valentine’s Day has arrived once again, so this year I decided to crack open the greatest of romantic gems! All I can say is Dynamite Comics completely slays the competition with their modern romance comic book starring Red Sonja. Every fan of this barbarian beauty knows of her curse, and how the gods stack love against this wildcat. If only there was a witch who could cast a spell and free Sonja! Not this time, Sonja. Not this time.
I loved the writing and artwork in this one-shot edition of Red Sonja. Writer Bill Willingham and artist Giuseppe Cafaro head this very amusing tale of two enemies thrown together by a scheming old woman. May the chickens have mercy on her soul. I give this Valentine’s Day special five out of five stars!
