The Monster Of Frankenstein – Volume 01 Issue 07

The Monster Of Frankenstein – Volume 01 Issue 07

My Rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“The Fury Of A Fiend!”

The Monster of Frankenstein has saved a young Gypsy woman from a stark raving murderer, only to find himself invited into their traveling caravan. The Monster agrees to join their carnival show if their seer, Madam Marguerita, shows him the location of the last living descendant of Victor Von Frankenstein. In the summer days that will soon follow, the Monster must discover if the Gypsies have truly accepted him with open arms, or is there an underlying plot to use him for something sinister.

“The Executioner!”

In 1789, a new invention developed by French physician Joseph-Ignace Guillotin revolutionized the practice of humane executions for his fellow countrymen. No one would have ever guessed that the instrument of Death was about to drop on the opposing social class. This was just the beginning of the French Revolution.

Reviewer Notes

I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but the ending of this Frankenstein storyline is a textbook example of a cliffhanger. What an awesome comic book! It did run a bit short on page count, however Marvel includes a bonus story, which may be a reprint from their horror archives.

Gary Friedrich and John Buscema stepped up the entertainment in issue number seven, making this one my favorite in the series so far. I just hope Marvel Comics maintains the level of quality presented here. I give this comic book five out of five stars. The art alone is worth the purchase.
