Behold! The Millennium Giants (Teen Titans – Volume 02 Issue 19)

My Rating

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“To Save a Country”

Deep in the Mediterranean sea, an unconscious Red Superman sinks lower and lower into the abyss. The Millennium Giant named Cerne has just destroyed the underwater kingdom city of Thierna Na Oge and sent its residents fleeing. As Superman’s fate is uncertain all hope is not lost. The hero named Tempest dives at all possible speed towards the dying Kryptonian.

Elsewhere, in the dry heat of Egypt, the Teen Titans arrive near the statue of the Sphinx. Thousands of refugees are trailing through the area as the second Millennium Giant named Sekhmet has finished incinerating the Egyptian military. Argent and Risk approach what’s left of the command structure and offer their help.

With the twin Supermen disposed of, can a pack of smart mouthed teenagers help or hinder the situation? Does Risk really intend to marry the Egyptian commander’s daughter? How tall can teenage Atom really grow? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

Since I know little about this version of the Teen Titans, I can’t say if this was good writing or not. They seemed alright but too much snarkiness. The battle at the end was really interesting. The teen Atom was able to grow to gargantuan size, but…nothing compared to Sekhmet. I’m giving this one four stars.
