My Rating
“Here Comes The Boom!”
There’s not one Ash, but two Ash. One’s future Ash, and the other is boring 1993 shit cleaner Ash. What happened to the Wiseman’s sleeping potion? The chainsaw-arm wielding Ash has just woken up in the year 2093 and the world is in major trouble. Can you say “Deadite apocalypse”?
To make things even more confusing, shit cleaner has returned to the year 1993. What gives, spinach-chin? The Necronomicon sure has a strange way of keeping itself relevant. Did Ash just see a reflection of Evil Ash in the shit house mirror?
Back in the future, cool Ash begins to explore post-apocalyptic London, but he is not alone. Yesterday he was fighting skeletons and harpies, now he’s about to face a force of mechanical and technological horror never dreamed of in the 20th century. Time to unholster the old Boomstick!
Why has Ash returned to two different time periods? Is that the old Wiseman? Can Sheila stop the resurrection of the hamburger faced Evil Ash? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
Well, according to some fan sites and the wiki, this was supposed to be the original ending to the Army of Darkness movie. I never expected such a bizarre turn of events in this Dynamite series. I don’t want to ruin this issue for those who haven’t read it yet, but you may want to rewatch the 1992 film.
For me, this issue was really entertaining, even if it was short. I think it’s obvious what 1993 Ash is all about, but maybe, just maybe I’m wrong. For now I will keep my speculation in check and give issue two a four out of five stars. Go, Ash!
