Behold! The Millennium Giants (Steel – Volume 02 Issue 50)

My Rating

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“Among Giants”

Forced to retreat from battle, Dr. Irons, aka Steel, has arrived at the Justice League of America’s moon base. A powerful blast radiated from Red Superman and the Millennium Giant Sekhmet has depowered the Steel battle suit. Dr. Irons rushes against the clock to repair the damage while his hammer is being wielded by Superboy.

As the intricate repairs are being made the Martian Manhunter arrives at the lab. The green detective left the fight to search for an alien artifact confiscated years before by the JLA. The item is a gravity based amplifier which can disrupt the Earth’s very ley lines. It’s a shot in the dark but Dr. Iron begins his analysis of the power source.

Can the bizarre alien tech give the JLA the upper hand in the battle against walking titans? Will Superboy finally man up and take responsibility for once in his life? Has Blue Superman come to terms with the death of his former body? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

I knew nothing about Steel before reading this issue, but now I am a fan. Dr. Irons is similar to Marvel’s Ironman if Ironman carried Thor’s hammer. I might be oversimplifying but in a nutshell that’s what it looks like to me. Anyway, a cool character and a possible turning point for the good guys. Four Stars from me.
