Eggs Got Legs! — or Love Conquers All!
Somewhere inside the Bermuda Triangle, miles below the surface of Monster Island, Reed Richards and his “wife” have the combined strength of the New Fantastic Four, Skrull commandos, and moloid army bearing down on them. Reed and “Susan” only have seconds to react before their capture is certain. Then in a flash the Invisible Woman morphs into her true form. The Skrull rebel named De’Lila appears and calls for a parley!
A thousand miles north in New York City, a bound Fantastic Four and their associates begin to wake up inside an elevator prison. All hope seems lost until the sealed doors begin to open. Outside stands Franklin and the building’s robotic secretary named Roberta. They bring news of Reed’s exit and of the global threat of ravaging monsters. Can the assault be stopped? The heroes rush to form a plan.
Will the New Fantastic Four stop De’Lila from capturing the Technotroid egg and using it to destroy Skrull space? Does Ghost Rider’s Penance Stare work on alien telepaths? Do male monsters stick around to rear their young? How did the Punisher afford his own Apache attack helicopter? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
Marvel must bring back Roberta the secretary at once! The creep factor alone will increase ratings tenfold. I hope to see more of her in the 2022 New Fantastic Four series.
The Monster Island angle was really interesting to me. Marvel had the Godzilla license years before this issue was ever written. Godzilla is roaming somewhere in the Marvel universe but not here. All the monsters in this story look like total knockoffs from the Toho movies. Unfortunately Hulk was no match for their rubbery skin.
And again, how does the Punisher afford his own private Apache helicopter? Must be rough? Was he working for the government at this point in time?
I’m giving Fantastic Four number 349 five out of five moloids!
