Night Force – Volume 02 Issue 10

My Rating

Rating: 3 out of 5.

The Eleventh Man – Part 2 of 3

The entity must find a new host, the twelfth man, and time is running out. Baron Winters and his fourteenth century shaman must locate the one who will take on the supernatural burden. The current possessor is none other than former president Richard Nixon. Tricky Dick sits sedated in a wheelchair while his fate is being determined.

Elsewhere at White Technologies, the company has just been given the coveted best computer company of the year award. Their newest gaming chip has made them the second richest software company next to Microsoft. The press wants access to the man who made it all possible. They don’t realize that Norman White speaks to no one.

Norman has no feelings whatsoever. He has been this way since childhood. The children bullied him into a emotionless state. The emotions must be kept at bay. There is no pain. The book will show him the way. Yes, the book known as the “Malleus Malefigarum”, the Witches Hammer.

Will Baron Winters find Nixon’s replacement host in time? Why are rich kids always so messed up? Can the ex president be pardoned from demonic deeds? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

Yep, I can see why the second run of Night Force came to an end. There just doesn’t seem to be a niche for it in the 1997 DC universe. Unlike Book of Fate and Scare Tactics, Marv Wolfman makes no attempt to forge a link with any of the other comic book titles. Even during the four part “Convergence” crossover there was no real comradery between the groups.  He briefly mentions the Daily Planet, but that’s about it. Another three star attempt in my opinion.
