“Eleventh Man – Part 03 of 03“
Zadok Grimm, a shaman from the fourteenth century and his familiar named Whisp, race up staircases leading to the rooftop of a twenty-first century high-rise. Above them the multimillionaire and tech genius, Norman White, has kidnapped a young child and is forcing him to watch death itself. Norman must feel something, anything.
The young boy sobs uncontrollably as the insane CEO begins firing a high capacity rifle down on the pedestrians walking below. Screams erupt as men, women, and children are gunned down with no discrimination what so ever. Zadok and Whisp reach the doorway leading to the roof. The twelfth man must be stopped no matter the fate of Baron Winters.
Wintersgate Manor, a mysterious woman has entered unchallenged. Baron Winters and Merlin recognize her as the one with the federal agents from days before. This time she reveals her identity. He needs her knowledge of the thirteenth man. Will the Baron find out the truth?
Reviewer Notes
Not much to write home about for the final chapter in the “Eleventh Man” storyline. Marv Wolfman addresses a reader’s question about the series ending in the letters section. Marv blames the increased cost in paper and low sales. He also adds that for 1997 the sales of independent series from DC Comics was never very good. In my opinion they should have done direct crossovers with the mainstream characters.
