Rating: 3 out of 5.

“The Treaty”

A famous statesman once said, “In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.” For the owner of Castle Acherriod, neither may be the case. Archibald Robinson is about to find out collecting taxes on an estate much older than the government he represents is a foolish undertaking indeed.

“The Gemini Ring – 2. Castle Acherriod”

Note: Originally presented in the Octavia Novella “The Gemini Ring”

Charles Peters crossed the threshold of Castle Acherriod with luggage in hand. The rude help paid him no mind. Then a man-like thing rushed to his side, grasping the bags and scurried off toward the grand staircase. It seemed like a feast or famine with the help here inside the castle walls. No matter. Peters was here to interview Marquessa Contessa for his Magazine. The idiosyncrasies of those who dwelt at Acherriod only added to the mystique.

“The Darkest Dream”

Do witches dream of supernatural sheep? Octavia is trapped in an endless cycle of nightmares. But what do the horrific scenarios really represent? Her sinister past? Or, is this an omen for things to come? She finally awakes to a knocking at her castle door.

Review

Mike Hoffman delivers more black and white eye-candy in issue two of Octavia Magazine. Two of the main storylines advance somewhat, however, if you are looking for highly detailed plot lines, look elsewhere. I give this one a solid three out of five stars.
