My Rating “Bog Beast” The monster had crawled from the dark ooze filling the La Brea Tar Pits, searching for knowledge of the surface world above him. His kind had tunneled deep into the earth during the last ice age, but their elders grew weary in the dark places not meant for the living. In
My Rating “Power Times Four!” Trapped for nearly two millennia beneath the burning sands of the Sahara Desert, N’Kantu, Chieftain of the Swarili tribe, awakens to a world he no longer recognizes. His first journey into modern Cairo ends after a violent confrontation with archaeologist Doctor Skarab and a small force of Egyptian soldiers. The
My Rating “The Room Of Madness!” The rug had survived the centuries, passed from one hand to another, all in an epic journey of evil. When business mogul Aldous Benton learned about the Tabriz Rose from his Manhattan art dealer, no price would be too high. Just thinking about the history of that Persian rug
My Rating “Blood Of Innocence” One hundred sixty miles east of Phoenix, Arizona, a family of four has just pulled into the dark parking lot of a lonely Route 93 gas station. The sounds of two young children complaining can be heard from the backseat of the suburbanites’ station wagon. They’re hungry. They have to
My Rating “Mother Of Evil – Part 05” The subtle voice of Stephen Strange woke Blade from his dream-like state. What happened in the past hour would take the vampire hunter days to remember. A battle was fought. Lucifer’s sword was in play, but…the Adana was too strong. The Mother of Evil had destroyed all
My Rating “The Big Night” Halloween night — Empire State University. Strange chanting noises echo from a third-floor boys’ dormitory as Ken, Chad, and Armand attempt an incantation they know absolutely nothing about. Why? Because they’re college freshmen, it’s Halloween, and summoning supernatural forces seems like a cool way to kill some time while waiting
My Rating “Brick By Brick” A group of onlookers have just gathered outside a small bed and breakfast in Lotkill, New York. From inside the quaint Victorian blood curdling screams emanate out towards the street and the terrified neighbors. As the scene unfolds blue-green lights begin to flicker randomly from every open window. This is
My Rating “Where House” Maricopa County, Arizona, 2:43 am – a SWAT team van pulls up alongside two sheriff’s vehicles parked fifteen miles out in a remote area of the southwestern desert. An unmarked helicopter passes over the scene of federal agents and local law enforcement officers. The men have gathered in front of an
My Rating “Shadows Of Satan” An escaped circus lion lies dead in a field covered with daisies. The animal’s only crime was following its natural instincts and trying to feast upon the soft flesh of a young blind woman named Sybl. Isn’t that simply the nature of the beast? As the big cat leaped forward
My Rating “Hallows’ Eve” — Issue #5 Midtown Manhattan — Anarchy has erupted in the street outside the Beyond Corporation headquarters. Maxine Danger and her elite squad of corporate goons have scooped up the magical Halloween masks that spilled across the sidewalk moments earlier. Janine Godbe has little time to react before spotting Detective Sebbens
