Reviewer Notes
Patsy Walker a.k.a. Hellcat is a reboot to the classic Marvel Comics teen romance series named simply Patsy Walker. In this update to the classic characters Patsy is now the super hero name Hellcat, and her mother is credited for writing the original series. I’m not sure if the Hellcat will be for everybody (ie. the boomer and gen-x readers). The writing seems to be geared towards what some today are calling the Disney “woke agenda”.
I’m a gen-x myself and find the writing and art very well done. Patsy Walker a.k.a. Hellcat does remind me of the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl series from the same time frame. That is a good thing. I’m a huge fan of comedy in cape books, so I will be giving Hellcat five stars for the first issue.
