“His Master’s Voice – Part 09”
The Wild Hunt races unchecked through the Border Kingdoms, and the veil between worlds is as old. There is no better time to kill a god! This, the necromancer Kulan Gath knows. But the army of Emberfall stands at his fortress gates, leaving Gath with very few options.
To the west in the emerald forest of the Norse, Red Sonja and her sister flee from the massive gathering of Huldrefolk stampeding towards the one city that has a chance of stopping the undead invasion towards the south. Now, Sonja must decide if she will take a defensive position to protect her loved ones or join the march towards the necromancer who started this apocalypse. Her time begins to run short as the god Ymir rides over her position, leaving her wits shattered.
Will the monsters of the fey realm capture the sister of Grace to fulfill an ancient prophecy? What of the boy whose blood was spilled in olden times? Can Red Sonja defeat both men and monsters along the way to victory? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
And the battle continues… And continues. I admit that I have lost track of all of the different factions involved with this storyline. Apparently, the daughter of Sonja’s sister, Grace, is the “Chosen One”. Chosen for what? I can’t remember. And don’t get me started on Kulan Gath. Just how powerful is this guy? I thought Conan the Barbarian backhanded this third-stringer to the pits of the nine hells.
I won’t repeat my talking points on the art and writing in volume seven of Red Sonja. The quality has remained the same in both art and writing. I’m giving this issue three out of five stars. I pray to Crom this story arc finishes quickly, as I want to like it. However, it grows monotonous.
