My Rating “Earth Came A-Walkin’” Somewhere in the foothills near Cerne Abbas, England, Clay Brody guns the engine of his 750cc motorcycle as an enormous shadow darkens the countryside around him. There is no time to hesitate. The motorcycle howls in protest as Clay cranks back the throttle and pushes the machine toward sixty-five miles
My Rating “Dark Waters” Kenn Kawa is slowly sinking into the dark abyss of the Pacific Ocean. Heavy chains have been wrapped around his body, binding him to a massive concrete block destined for the ocean floor. Whoever put Kenn down here certainly doesn’t expect him to return to the surface. They obviously don’t know
My Rating “Last Days – Part Three of Three” “Through a Glass, Darkly” Deep inside a top-secret research facility hidden somewhere in the remote Mojave Desert, the rogue killer known as Saxon has just saved the Challengers of the Unknown from certain death. A group of heavily armed mercenaries had captured both generations of Challengers
My Rating “Beginnings and Endings” Someone has planted a bomb inside the manifold of Marlon’s twin-engine Cessna. Somewhere high above the deserts of the American Southwest, the explosive detonates and sends the small aircraft crashing toward the ground. Marlon and his passenger, Matthew Ryans, somehow survive the impact, but their troubles have only just begun.
My Rating “Last Days – Part 01 of 03” Some say trouble always comes in threes, and the Challengers of the Unknown are about to get a triple dose. First, commercial airliners have started blinking in and out of existence like cheap Christmas lights. The disappearances don’t appear random, and investigators believe there may be
My Rating “The Final Gathering” Last time, Fate escaped death with a little help from a goth-lookin’ wannabe process server. Now the agent of the Lords of Order has an even bigger problem—he has to go to space court! What?!? The Sentinel, Alan Scott, wants the artifacts of Fate, believing they are his rightful inheritance.
My Rating “Swiss Cheese” Fate has been teleported by some unknown force straight into the middle of the World Peace Summit in Switzerland. Jared Stevens has no idea who brought him here or why, and the local authorities aren’t exactly interested in hearing his side of the story. Within minutes, the wielder of the artifacts
My Rating “Better Off Dead” Jared Stevens stands alone in pitch-black nothingness. There is a light somewhere in the far distance, but he has no idea where he is or how the hell he got here. The last thing Jared remembers is surfing the internet at Burnsteel’s shithole apartment while Burnsteel’s sister, Vera, was busy
My Rating “Signs” Boston, Massachusetts—somewhere near Jared Stevens’ slum apartment building, the pounding of heavy footsteps echoes around a street corner. It’s Fate, and for once he isn’t charging into battle. He’s running for his damn life! Behind him, a ravenous horde of giant sewer rats gives chase. Desperate for answers, Jared snatches a cellphone
My Rating “A Tale of Temporary Farewells” Baron Winters sits peacefully in a majestic field somewhere within a prehistoric landscape. He has some idea how he arrived at this strange location, but the reason for his journey remains a mystery. Extinct animals wander freely across the countryside as creatures from different periods of history coexist
