My Rating “Fifteen Minutes” Of all the low points in Carl Kolchak’s career, sitting in a dark basement in suburban Huntington Beach should not have made the list. Yet here he is. After the Hollywood Dispatch cans its star reporter over a slight disagreement about what constitutes a legitimate story, Carl finds himself out of
My Rating “Night Of The Living Bones” Somewhere beneath the ruins of an ancient European castle, Doctor Adam Spektor and his secretary, Lakota Rainflower, descend into a forgotten world. The psychic impression which drew Spektor to the site grows stronger with every step. Strange inscriptions cover the crumbling walls, leading the occult investigator to a
My Rating “Donovan’s Demon” Five years have past and Donovan still digs through the refuge of the city. He must find the parchment! A scripture with the power to summon the devil himself. It’s the only way to get his dear Maggie back. The demon stole his love by chance. The sad truth is that
My Rating “The Dungeon Of Frankenstein” The arm of a giant reached through the door of the castle, grabbing at Lakota Rainflower. Her scream was guttural. In her worst nightmares, Doctor Spektor’s assistant never knew such a horror. The Frankenstein Monster was quick, with the strength of steel vices. There was no fighting this corruption
My Rating “Dr. Spektor And Mr. Hyde” Doctor Spektor awoke suddenly to the sound of Lakota Rainflower’s scream. His hands were wrapped tightly around her throat in an attempt to murder the young Native American woman. But what had caused him to attack his assistant in such a brutal manner? It was the formula of
My Rating “Huge Detective – Issue 05” Smoosh on! Smoosh off! Don’t mess with the Huge or you might get the palm. Mrs. Stubbs and the whack job psychologist, Dr. Crawford, have been exposed as the frauds they really are. The only problem is, Agent Tamaki must free her partner from the super-sized brain-scrambling machine
My Rating “The Battle Of The Monsters!” Marooned a shrinking chunk of ice, the Frankenstein Monster has little choice but starve to death while floating in the North Atlantic. That, of course, is if he doesn’t freeze first. The days pass as his chances of rescue grow slimmer by the moment. The ice which he
My Rating “The Girl Called Cthulhu – Part 04” The nickname has stuck, thanks to an overeager commander aboard the HMS Seraph. Now the girl called Cthulhu must escape the sealed container in which she was unceremoniously dumped into the Mediterranean Sea. As round after round of .303 British lead ricochets across the outer shell
My Rating “The Girl Called Cthulhu – Part 03” Time, the one thing that can’t be stopped. Not even the cavalcade of devils and demons, claimed allies of Aleister Crowley, have the power to stay history. Minky Woodcock would survive her experience at Esopus Island, but her friend H.P. Lovecraft would not. After a stint
My Rating “The Girl Called Cthulhu – Part 02” Freed from the fire! Waking up from their drugged state, Minky and Gladys find themselves bound in a room that has been set ablaze. Aleister Crowley was right about the notorious Tiger Woman, Betty May. That woman is capable of anything, including murder! With some quick
