“The Perception of Doors“
Jared Stevens just saved planet Earth from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. News coverage went worldwide but for the wrong reasons. To the non-magic eye it would appear Fate had assassinated four human celebrities during the international peace talks in Switzerland. Now Jared sits in prison waiting for trial. Great, now he has two court dates.
Can Doctor Occult help free Fate before the hangman’s noose is placed around his neck? How about the Sentinel? He hasn’t stuck his green nose into the situation yet. Or has he? Jared must concentrate. He can reach where he is needed most; just need to concentrate.
If Jared escapes will the Justice League bring him back? What planet can play refuge for a man with magic bandages? Who is this Lobo guy? Collect the series to find out!
Reviewer Notes
I really want to like this issue, but… They made an artist change and it is really noticeable. Matt Smith takes over the pencils in Book of Fate #11 and steers the ship into Hellboy styled waters. I like Matt Smith’s work, it’s just a bad spot in the series to use him.
There is only one book left in the series. DC Comics must have cut budgets or something. Why introduce an art style change at this point?
On a positive note, I believe we have Lobo at the end of this issue. I know almost nothing about the character. I’m hoping the final issue will be a blast.
