Clobberin Time – Volume 01 Issue 05

Clobberin Time – Volume 01 Issue 05

My Rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“It’s Clobberin’ Time”

Trapped moments before the historic Big Bang event, Benjamin Grimm, Doctor Doom,  and Tuvah Tu are suspended in mid-air by some type of Psychopomp future-tech. Its clear to even the eclectic Victor Von Doom that Ogdu Fraize has lost his mind. Ben is uncertain if the energy stealing Psychopomp Engine will actually undo creation, but the sight of the incubating form of infant Galactus puts things in perspective. If they are going to make a move now is the time to do it.

Unlike other supervillains Ben has encountered in the past, Ogdu doesn’t merely unveil his plans to remake the universe, the madman gives a five hour long TED talk. The torcher is unbearable even for a Watcher. Oh the humanity! That’s all Tuvah Tu can stand, Tuvah Tu can’t stands no more! It’s Clobberin’ Time!

How can the heroes of this time hope to compete against technology not even invented yet? Does Hank Pym owe Doctor Doom a thank you for using Pym particles to save the universe? If you could go back in time, would you kill baby Galactus? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

Well this issue gets a five star rating simply for the Ben Grimm Healing Sarcophagus imagery. What a fun series this was. From start to finish the laughs never stopped. I think my favorite part of the whole run was the battle with Mekron and his “tween” children. Or maybe when Ben called the “Nub Nub” alien shaman the “Nub Nub Sorcerer Supreme”. There’s plenty of goodness to go around.

As a series in general, it’s top notch and well deserving of the coveted five star rating. I’m looking forward to any future projects with Steve Skroce behind the wheel. If he could take over She-Hulk Volume 04 that would be the best thing for that series, in my opinion of course. I want to thank Marvel for the good times.
