Doctor Strange – Volume 06 Issue 02

Doctor Strange – Volume 06 Issue 02

My Rating

Rating: 3 out of 5.

“Dream Evil”

A young couple from the Bronx came to the Midnight Mission seeking help for their daughter. Mr. Knight agreed to help the girl but quickly found the situation too complex for his skill set. Esther Oh had fallen into a mysterious coma the likes New York doctors were unable to diagnose. Time to call in the arcane experts!

Marc Spector and Stephen Strange were never friends or cordial with each other. Infact, Stephen despised the mercenary for his past. Both would have to cast aside their personal differences however as a young girl was suffering. Doctor Strange and his wife Clea both arrived at the doorstep of the Oh family within the hour.

The master of the mystic arts performed several diagnostic spells on the unconscious child only to discover her Astral Form was  missing. There are very few practitioners who could invade a child’s dreams and rip the very life energy from their bodies. There are even fewer who could mask the energy trail. Clea and Stephen Strange prepare to confront the ruler of the Nightmare dimension, Fear himself!

Who has stolen Esther Oh’s Astral Form and dragged it to the pits of Nightmares? Did Jean Grey and her X-men recently lay waste to the creatures within the Dream Dimension? How powerful are the creatures known as Phobovores? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

The plot thickens! The ruler of the Purple Dimension, Aggamon, has been assassinated by some unknown force. Can the murder be related to the theft of Esther Oh’s Astral Form? It’s time for the Strange family to begin their investigation. Is it too late to stop a force that may be unstoppable?

This was a fun jaunt into the Nightmare dimension. Or is it the Dream Dimension? I have no clue when it comes to the Multiverse. Back in my day we only had Earth 616, and our heroes walked uphill both ways to fight crime. You youngsters have no idea how Gen-Xers had to overcome. My idea for issue number two, however, is three out of five stars.
