“Kardak The Mystic”
Just last week, John Cardy was another dime-a-dozen magician performing for a matinée crowd in the two-bit town of Riverdale. Now Cardy is booking large arenas in New York City with a new persona, a beautiful assistant named Lorna, and the demonic powers of an ancient warlock at his command. But did that old crowne named Enchantra tell him about the curse? Not on her life, she didn’t.
Prepare yourself for the tale of a lifetime, as Kardak the Mystic exposes the real world of Illusionist magic and the dark sorcery of witchcraft. Will our heroes defeat the evil forces which hide in the junk shops of Riverdale? Or will Kardak and Lorna be trapped in an alternate reality of demons. Collect the series to find out!

Archie Comics did it again, and brought back one of their pre-Archie era characters from the golden age of comic books. John Cardy, aka Kardak the Mystic, was an old school adventurer/performer who received the power from a mystical amulet. This time around Kardak recieves a fresh start as a minor league stage performer with a dark cloud hanging over his head.
Should he give up his profession and settle down with his love, Lorna? I don’t really know, but this was a fun one-shot with a short expose on his golden age past. I give this book three out of five stars.
