“She-Devil With A Sword”
Prince Eaymon has fallen! As Red Sonja races for the city of Khorshemish, revolutionaries known as the Rising Sun continue to slaughter the kingdom’s ruling class. Sonja must find a way to cleanse the daughter of Elarr Vorn, for the girl’s blood is the key that can summon the Demoroq.
Aretha Vorn has little choice in the matter. The ancient beast must not be made to serve Ivorn or his lunatic horde of murderers. Either the girl submits to the ritual of blood rites or death in the form of Red Sonja. Hyboria teeters on the brink of chaos once again. Pirosin Tower awaits!
Does the Rising Sun have enough zealots to overthrow the kingdom of Koth? Will Red Sonja seek revenge for the murder of Prince Eaymon? How powerful is the Demoroq? Collect the series to find out!
Review
Red Sonja is definitely a member of the SOGO club – save one kingdom, get one saved for free. Has she started a punch card? If Sonja is really that well known across Hyboria, how long can she keep a low profile? She better act fast.
Issue two is a mix of action and humor, but mostly action. The art by Pablo De Bonis is unique. I can’t say the same for the plot or character development. There’s no element that stands out to me yet. Maybe next time. This is a solid three-star issue that any fan of Red Sonja should enjoy.
