“Part Three – Behind The Mask”
A gunshot rang out within the half-light of the Gordon House. As Michael O’Donnel wrestled the .38 caliber revolver from Evelyn Gordon’s hands, John Kirowan turned to scan the study for an unseen presence. It wasn’t the serpent ring that caused Evelyn to become homicidal, as John suspected. There was a presence here manipulating them all along. The Great Occultist, Professor Kirowan, needed to act fast before there was another death.
Elsewhere, across time and continents, the king of Valusia, Kull, watched from the throne room as a council of elders began a ritual of summoning. It was unclear who had been replaced by the serpent men, but Kull and his trusted ally Brule were about to find out. Their only question was whether two men could defeat a potentially endless legion of Serpent men in defense of their city.
Will Conan the Barbarian find the murder of Kallian Publico deep within the collector’s own temple museum? What emerged from the golden plated bowl of Set? Are words more powerful than the gods themselves? Collect the series to find out!
“The Legacy Of The Serpent: John Kirowan And The Ring Of Set”
Is it the Ring of Thoth-Amon, or of Set? This grand debate has been answered here in Jeffrey Shanks’ latest expose on Robert E Howard. From the ring’s humble beginnings in the Phoenix and the Sword, to John Kirowan’s great occult battle in The Haunter of the Ring, we get the full details here in this article.
