Reviewer Notes

Well, this was unexpected. I was all prepared for another volume of Kull stories, but this is something uniquely different. Ablaze has given us a crossover event staring characters from both literary works, mythology, and simple folktales. The main star seems to be the sorceress from Arthurian times, Morgan Le Fay. She as been tasked at rounding up great warrior from across time and universes. Can we say Multiverse here, or is that copyrighted by Marvel? Don’t sue me bro!

Even though I enjoyed the story concept, how would Morgan Le Fay know any of the barbarians she has sought out? Most of these characters are either out of her regional scope or recent time frame. I would have been nice if Ablaze explained this a bit better, but it not a deal breaker for me. I though the art and page layout were well done. I’m reserving my critique on the writing until we get a few more issues in. I think the Mighty Barbarians #1 is a four stars book. Hopefully the series has a successful run.
