The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl – Volume 02 Issue 40

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl – Volume 02 Issue 40

My Rating

Rating: 5 out of 5.

“Suspense Stories from Spaaaaaace…”

Fresh off the Tony Stark rescue we move directly into “Suspense Stories from Spaaaaaace…” (also, “I Married an Earther!”). You can thank the Skrull battle lords for this otherworldly comic book propaganda piece. You have to work up your troops into a battle frenzy somehow. No big whoop.

Meanwhile, say hello to the unremarkable human named Gillian Blythe; wink, wink. Gillian is just an ordinary girl, sometimes squirrel, sometimes lamp post. Nothing to see here. She just wants to live a peaceful life no matter the cost. Even if that cost includes a follow-up Skrull invasion.

Will this vanilla envelope of an “earthling” fly under the radar, or will Squirrel Girl use her Skrull-dar to flush out the deception? Collect the series to find out!

Reviewer Notes

This issue is a clear 5 Star winner. Derek Charm has found his mark with the art. Ryan North, as usual, has brought the entertainment. This is also a Stan Lee dedication book.
