Reviewer Notes
Kneel before Zod…’s ghost! Welcome to the 1970’s world of DC Comics. I had no expectations coming into issue number 395, so surprisingly I discovered two separate stories. I bought this book for the Haunted House aspects, but story one was interesting. We get a healthy dose of women’s lib and some pop culture references. I laughed at the Bill Cosby and Barbara Streisand mentions. Were they really that influential to college kids back in 1970? Weird.
The Haunted House story was the main stay for me. Their is a really cool twist ending tailored to a metahuman’s psychie. Supergirl had to use her noggin to figure this one out. Hint: there are a lot of Kryptonian references for all of the Superman buffs out there. The only downside to issue 395 is the story roles over into issue 396. Will I go out of my way to get the next issue? Probably not. However, I’m giving this one 4 out of 5 stars.
