“The Witches of the Western Wood”
Before the war left a missing head, a woman scarred in Sleepy Hollow bled. An abusive husband, poisoned in bed, His wife and daughters wished him dead. A pact with Scratch left two girls unfed. A test.
Would the pious shelter those born of a witch? Not in a barn, or the rich. Into a cave they fled, Towards the woods one servant said. Then the Hessian came from afar, White to black, the Devil won instead.
Review
Writer Delilah S. Dawson brings us back to Sleepy Hollow. The Tim Burton reimagined setting, that is. This time, Dawson turns back the clock to the time before the Hessian entered the Western Woods that fateful day. When two young girls, the daughters of Archer, fended for themselves in a cave while their magic grew. The goal, revenge!
I loved this prequel story by Delilah S. Dawson. With art by Jose Jaro, this miniseries will be one that the fans of the movie will want to collect. I give The Witches of the Western Wood four out of five stars.
